How To Make Your Customers Trust You


When people visit your website the first impression they have of it will likely determine the amount of time they will spend on your website and whether they will buy from you or not. So how can you ensure they stay on your website and eventually buy from you? It's simple; "You have to make them trust you".

Trust is a very big issue on the web and therefore it is your responsibility as a website owner to resolve each and every concern that your potential customers might have before they even arise. In this post I offer you tips on how to make your customers trust you whenever they visit your website.

1. Have a professionally designed website

So how professional does your website look? Does it look like it was designed by someone who has just finished college? If that’s the case then you need to consider having your website redesigned.

The first step is hiring one of the professional web designers in your area  to redesign your website for you. Yes, it will cost more but it will be paid back by the increased sales it will generate for your business.

2. Include your full contact details

Reassure your visitors that your business is legitimate by including your full contact details on your website and the physical address of your business. Avoid post office boxes at all costs since they give your customers the impression that you are hiding something.

Your visitors should also be able to get your phone number and ring you in case they have any questions. Always answer your phone promptly whenever it rings and try to attend to all the questions that your customers may have.

3. Offer valuable information for FREE

You can also develop trust by offering valuable information for free on your website. You can do this by regularly updating your website with blog posts offering advice to your customers or offer free reports and e-books on various topics in your industry for your customers to download.

This not only places you as the trusted authority in your industry but also establishes relationships for future business.

4. Have a secure shopping cart if you are selling online.

If you are selling products online, having a secure shopping cart will also give customers confidence that their personal and financial information are safe when they place an order on your website.

Remember one of the major causes for lost sales online is lack of confidence in the security of a website.

5. Offer 100% Money back guarantee

Finally, offer your customers a way to send back their orders and ask for a refund if they aren’t happy with your product. I know this may sound like it will hurt your sales but it has the opposite effect.

In fact more people are likely to buy from you simply because they know they can get a refund if they are unhappy. As long as you have a product that genuinely adds value to people’s lives, the number of increased sales will definitely outweigh the refunds.
